This drive up Sunset Strip in the late 1930s is sublime.  You can see the corner building which would become the Whiskey A Go Go (used to be a bank) and ‘land for sale” which will make you wish you could build a time machine and go back to buy.  Also wonderful here are are the — can’t remember what they called them - garden billboards?  Early LA billboards which were low to the ground were usually surrounded by gardens.  Only a few remain, and it’s so interesting to see these covering Sunset Strip — which would later be raised above the buildings as people gobbled up that land and developed it.  This was posted on You Tube by LA style historian extraordinaire Alison Martino.
